The festival Wine in the Village, considered the largest event dedicated exclusively to Brazilian wines, returns to Rio this month for a special edition of 10 years. Between May 22, 23 and 24, the Touring Building, in the Center, will receive producers, connoisseurs and curious about the diversity of national winemaking.
Created by Casa Vitis, the event has consolidated over the last decade as a showcase of the country's authorial production. In this commemorative edition, more than 25 wineries participate with labels from different regions, especially producers of Rio Grande do Sul — the main Brazilian winery center.
The bet on experience
The program will also feature live shows, artisanal gastronomy and a local product fair, as well as spaces designed for photos overlooking Guanabara Bay. The Festival also has the partnership of Belmonte, known for the snacks and the traditional presence in the Bohemian scene of the city.
The curatorship is signed by Larissa Fin, who keeps the focus on novelties and diversity. Among the newcomers are wineries such as Soterrani, Tramarin and Ishtar, the latter bringing Brazilian wines with Lebanese influence. The public can also taste labels of already recognized houses, such as Miolo, Salton, Aurora and Cave Geisse, in addition to the traditional New Alliance, which accumulates 95 years of history.
