Santa Teresa: an open gallery!

The neighborhood of Santa Teresa, in the Center of Rio, received the Urban Art Festival (FAUST). Several street spaces in the neighborhood received paintings, turning the site into an open-air art gallery. The public could watch the whole creative process of the arts, made by artists who live or already expose their works in Santa Teresa, such as RafaMon, Kajaman, Carol Pacini, among others.

The activations show the importance of Santa Teresa in the cultural and artistic circuit of the city. Every visitor in the neighborhood will be able to enjoy the colorful walls and murals during their stay or walk.

What to do at the Urban Art Festival?

Map of streets to receive interventions

A map helped the public locate more than 30 works with information on location and authors at different points in the neighborhood. With printing of 10,000 units printed and available in the online version in site, the map could be removed at Bondinho Station in Carioca, in bars and restaurants, parks, museums, shops and with promoters throughout the neighborhood. Therê Gallery

In partnership with beer Therezópolis, the festival took art to the restaurants in the neighborhood, which won a tile produced exclusively by ceramic artist Carol Pacini. In them, the visitor scanned a barcode to gain access to an audio recorded by the artist explaining his work and inspiration.

The artist Rafa Mon took her colorful art and full of memories with the Goody for the Pizza Tribes.

The restaurant simply received the artist Bruno “BR” Bogossian, who stamped one of its main walls.

The Café do Alto restaurant received the artist Marcio SWK who transformed one of the main walls of the restaurant into a work of art with the theme “Raízes”, stamping some of the culture and traditional of the northeastern restaurant.

The Esquina de Santa restaurant received the Marcio SWK that gave new colors to the instagramable that occupies one of the outside walls and is a point of photos of the neighborhood with the phrase "Welcome to Santa Teresa".

Cinema

The former external doors of the newly renovated Cine Santa received the art of LF Zod mixing the painting technique with collage.

Gastronomy Polo

In addition to enjoying the creations of the artists, visitors can enjoy visiting bars and restaurants in the neighborhood's gastronomic hub. One of them is the Pepper Winery that completes this month forty years with its traditional German food dishes. The Mineiro Bar is a great request for a strategic stop between one painting and another to combine its traditional dumplings to harmonize with cold beer. For those who enjoy a good drink a great order is the Explorer bar that has a varied menu of exclusive drinks.

Strolling around the neighborhood to discover the new and old paintings, tiles and mosaics, the public can also discover the traditional Portuguese bakery Alda Maria Doces Portugueses that is located in a historic building in the neighborhood, in a cozy space full of memories.
