I'm still here (2024)

Under the direction of Walter Salles, the film narrates Eunice Paiva's journey in search of justice during the period of the military dictatorship in Brazil. With locations in Ipanema, it rescues scenarios from the 1970s. Being the first national film to win the Academy Award for Best International Film, you'll be on Globeplay from April 6th.

Rio, I Love You (2014)

Integrating the series Cities of Love, the film is a meeting of shorts directed by famous filmmakers, each exploring different facets of Rio de Janeiro. The plots develop in places like Pão de Açúcar, Vidigal and Theatro Municipal. Production can be seen in Apple TV.

Rio (2011)

This animation, directed by Carlos Saldanha, tells the story of Blu, a blue macaw that lives as a pet and travels to Rio to find the last female of his species. The film features emblematic points of the city. Indicated to the Oscar of best soundtrack, the work is available in Disney+.

Fast and Furious 5: Operation Rio (2011)

In this fifth long saga, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) star in breathtaking action scenes in famous places such as Ipanema Beach and Arcos da Lapa. Production is in Globeplay, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.

Central Brazil (1998)

Golden Bear Winner at the Berlin Festival and nominated for the Oscar, this exciting drama directed by Walter Salles follows the journey of Dora (Fernanda Montenegro) and Joshua (Vinícius de Oliveira) through Brazil. The film has iconic scenes around Central Brazil, in the center of Rio. Available at Globoplay.

007 Against the Rocket of Death (1979)

James Bond (Roger Moore) investigates the disappearance of a spacecraft and this mission takes him to Rio de Janeiro. A striking scene takes place at Pão de Açúcar, where Bond faces the villain Jaws in an electrifying confrontation. It can be seen on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.

These films offer a film immersion in Rio de Janeiro, allowing people from all over the world to discover different stories and looks about the city.
