Rio has just won yet another international recognition: the city has been voted one of the best in the world by Time Out magazine, ranking 12 in the 2026 global ranking.
The research heard about 24,000 people in different cities, in addition to the evaluation of specialists, analyzing criteria such as gastronomy, nightlife, well-being and quality of life.
Among the highlights pointed out by the cariocas themselves are the natural beauty and vibrant climate of the city. According to the survey, 79% of residents claim to feel a strong sense of community, one of the factors that most attract the attention of those who live and visit Rio.
Another high point is nightlife, considered one of the great marks of the destination, with parties, shows and events that occupy streets, nightclubs and iconic beaches, such as Copacabana.
According to Time Out Rio de Janeiro, Livia Breves, the cultural scene continues to expand, with festivals and major events that move the calendar throughout the year, reinforcing Rio as one of the world's main entertainment centers.
In the South American ranking, Rio leads the list, followed by São Paulo, Medellín, Lima, Buenos Aires and Bogotá. On the global stage, the leadership took Melbourne.
