The Machado de Assis Festival celebrates the 187 years of the birth of the greatest Brazilian writer with a free 12-hour schedule at the Rio Museum of Art (MAR). The event brings together literary walk through the Historic Center, discussion tables with academics and experts, open microphone..
The Machado de Assis Festival celebrates the 187 years of the birth of the greatest Brazilian writer with a free 12-hour schedule in the Rio Art Museum (MAR). The event brings together literary walk through the Historical Center, discussion tables with academics and experts, open microphone, artistic interventions, immersive experiences and musical presentations.
Among the highlights is the Capitu Occupation, an installation inspired by the Machadian universe with period scenography and interactive photographic activation. The closing will be with the scenic-musical show "O Corte do Machado", followed by a Charme Ball open to the public.
The festival invites cariocas and visitors to rediscover the work of Machado de Assis through contemporary experiences that connect literature, art, memory and city.
