João Gomes chooses Rio for recording again DVD

The pernambuco singer João Gomes will record his new audiovisual work in the Arcos da Lapa, one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of Rio, on Sunday, October 26. The choice of the place, known for being a hair full of culture and history, reflects the moment of artistic expansion of the singer, who has conquered the country with his charisma and mixture of piseiro, forró and influences of MPB.

The recording, which will be open to the public, will be directed by Bruno Moura and Geraldo Estrela, and will gather great successes of his career, as Dengo, My Piece of Sin and Those things, besides unpublished songs and rereadings of classics that marked their musical formation. For the party to be complete, the special appearances of Zeca Pagodinho, Ivete Sangalo, Ruan Vaqueirinho and MC Cabelinho are confirmed.

Born in Serrita, in the hinterland of Pernambuco, João Gomes became one of the main names of the new generation of northeastern music. With his severe voice and repertoire that speaks of various themes, he overcame regional barriers and conquered audiences from different parts of Brazil. In a few years of his career, the singer accumulates millions of listeners on digital platforms and became one of the most popular artists in the country.

Rio's choice to register this new moment symbolizes the national connection that the artist has been building. After participating in the first episode of the Brazilian program Tiny Desk and project Doggy next to Jota.pê and Maestrinho, João reinforces his prominent place in brazilian music, now taking the sound of the sertão to the cultural heart of the Wonderful City.
