The district of Gloria, known for the beauty of the imposing Church of Nossa Senhora do Outeiro and the traditional Sunday fair, has just won another title to call its own. The region, which borders between the Center and the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, was included in the list of the coolest neighborhoods in the world, according to the English magazine “Time Out”.
" For many years, Gloria was an area known mainly for its historical monuments and heritage. In addition, it has parks, the Museum of Modern Art and a famous church with a spectacular view. However, the neighborhood is undergoing a transformation. Thanks to the presence of a younger and vibrant population, there are now many reasons to visit this area, which has long been neglected."
The neighborhood offers cariocas and tourists a programme full of diversity and culture. Among the options are bike rides on Aterro do Flamengo and the opportunity to enjoy renowned restaurants in the region, such as Braseirinho, Labuta Mar and Birosca.
Another great attraction is the Fair of Glory, which takes place every Sunday and brings together more than 150 sellers with exclusive products. To end with the authentic carioca spirit, the traditional samba wheel attracts both cariocas and tourists, celebrating the most representative musical genre in Rio de Janeiro.
