The northeastern cuisine will gain special prominence in Rio with the premiere of Cuscous Festival, which takes place between March 20 and 22 Luiz Gonzaga Center of Nordestine Traditions, the traditional São Cristóvão Fair. The event promises to transform the traditional space dedicated to the culture of the Northeast into a great gastronomic encounter, with the couscous as protagonist of different recipes.
During the three days of the festival, more than ten restaurants installed in the pavilion will present dishes that have the couscous as main base, with options from R $ 24.90. The audience can experience from more traditional versions, such as the classic couscous with sun meat, to creative combinations that explore new flavors and textures. The proposal is to show the versatility of this food that is part of the daily lives of millions of Brazilians, especially in the Northeast.
Varied menu
Among the options available will also be sweet versions, which mix popular ingredients of regional cuisine such as cheese and guava. The variety seeks to meet different palates and reinforce the affective and cultural character of the dish, which crosses generations and carries family memories.
In addition to gastronomic programming, the festival will also have cultural attractions that help recreate the climate of traditional northeastern parties. Throughout the event, the public will be able to follow forró presentations with trio serra-foot, musical genre that is symbol of the region and constant presence in popular celebrations.
The Cuscuz Festival takes place daily from 10am to 10pm and must gather residents and tourists interested in knowing or revisiting typical flavors of the Northeast. Programming also includes special activations and activities aimed at the public, reinforcing the proposal to transform space into an environment of coexistence and celebration of northeastern culture.
