In 2026, the Laranjeiras district began with two new weekly and free cineclubs: the Cine Mercadinho São José and the Cineclub Casas Casadas. The initiatives propose regular cinema sessions followed by debates with the public.
In 2026, the Laranjeiras district started with two new weekly and free cineclubs: Cine Mercadinho San José and Cineclub Married Houses. The initiatives propose regular cinema sessions followed by debates with the public.
O Cine Mercadinho San José it happens every Tuesday, at 19h, focusing on the exhibition of brazilian documentaries, especially productions related to music. The Cineclub Married Houses performs sessions on Thursdays, at 18h, showing long and short national and international films, always with debates after the sessions.
The next sessions of Cineclub Married Houses At 6 p.m., they include:
12/3 (Thursday) – Unpublished movie display “Brizola: Annotations for a History”, by Silvio Tendler, in honor of the birthday of Leonel Brizola
19/3 (Thursday) – Special session A year without Cacá Diegues, with the display of a film of the director

According to the organizers, the proposal is to strengthen the meeting between public and cinema in the neighborhood, which concentrates many audiovisual professionals.
