In February, the Casting Progress continues with intense programming. On the days 21 and 28 February, happen the traditional Monobloc tests, where the battery of Rio's most famous block heats the drums to the carnaval, bringing much animation and contagious energy.
In addition, all Thursdays, the Foundry receives the Samba Independent of Good Customs, a samba wheel that has become one of the largest samba meetings in Rio, with presentations of local groups and musicians that guarantee the true climate of pagoda.
To complete, in January 25, Foundry Progress offers free workshop Voice (En), with the talented Nivea Magno, who promises to explore vocal techniques and stimulate the creativity of participants.
With an agenda full of music, culture and learning, the Foundry Progress consolidating itself as one of the largest leisure and art centers in Rio de Janeiro. Don't lose!
The event will still have three showers in a Green Space, special for the hot summer days.
About Foundry Progress:
Located in a historic building of an old iron object factory deactivated in the 1970s, the Foundry houses from large events of showbizz to traditional and renewed manifestations of the carnaval Rio. It goes from maracatu to cinema, passing the theatre, circus, design and classical music.
Intrepid Trupe, Warehouse Theatre, Theatre Anonymous, Video Foundry and Orchestra Petrobras Symphony are some of the cultural groups that inhabit the space daily, rehearsing, teaching and presenting their art.
The Funding became a reference for the Brazilian and Rio carnaval with the creation of the National Carnival Marchinhas Competition, which has already received more than 6,000 registrations over the last six years and moves around 30,000 people in their events every edition; and with the rehearsals of important carnival blocks at its headquarters, such as the Monobloco, the Maracatu River and Bangalafumenga.
Stage of historical moments of MPB, such as Cássia Eller concerts and the farewell of Los Hermanos group, the showhouse of the Progress Foundation is among the main venues of shows in Rio de Janeiro. Artists such as Maria Rita, Lenine, O Rappa, Jorge Ben Jor, The Paralames of Success, Natiruts, Skank, among other great artists and bands from various aspects of the music, are often featured in it.
International shows are also part of space programming, which has already received names such as Franz Ferdinand, Manu Chao, Motorhead and Marilyn Manson, just to name a few.
