The Day of Consciousness Black will be celebrated for the first time as a national holiday, and the Alley of the Mouse will become the stage of an event full of culture, music and reflection. The Festival of Consciousness, led by the renowned Milton Cunha, will take place on 20 November, starting at 19h, offering a show that celebrates the origins and diversity of Brazil.
The feast is also organized by the Brazilian Association of Carnival Arts (ABAC), an entity chaired by Milton Cunha, and aims to celebrate the Day of Black Consciousness, besides highlighting the cultural wealth of the country.
With varied programming, the event will feature performances that mix samba and MPB.
The opening will feature presentations that mix these two strands, followed by a great samba-enredo parade, the style that is the soul of Rio. In addition, the event will feature the presence of Nilce Fran, icon of the passistas in Brazil, and shows of the S.E.R. Group, with classic samba-enredos, and the APASB Group (Association of the Samba do Brasil Passistas), which will revive memorable sambas and transmit the energy of samba schools. Vivi Martins, Laíza Bastos, Dhu Costa, Aldione Senna and Bruno Teté will also be performed. Don't lose!
