The Rat Beco closes its programming of Carnaval on February 18 (Wednesday of Ashes) with the traditional Batuqueiro Block, which celebrates 18 years of history. Formed by Sambists of the new generation, the group pays homage to the master Marcos Esguleba, reference of Rio's urban samba. The procession part of the Beco do Rato, follows the Rua Joaquim Silva until the Escadaria Selarón and returns to the point of origin, keeping alive the tradition of street samba in the Lapa.
