On October 25, the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops, list that highlights the best coffee shops in the world and Rio has entered the global map of coffee excellence. For the first time, the South American continent had representatives in the prestigious ranking, and the Wonderful City was one of the highlights, with three coffee shops among the best on the planet.
According to the organizers, the selection process combines open indications, online public voting and technical evaluation of a specialized committee. The report points out that the award-winning Brazilian houses share some striking features: consistent care, handmade roasting and welcoming environments, which invite the client to slow down and taste each sip.
Carioca coffee shops on the list
At the top among Rio's representatives is Coffee Five, located in the Center, which reached the 20th position in the global ranking. In Ipanema, the charming Mato Café won the 64th position, followed closely by the Café To Leu, in Copacabana, who stayed in 67th.
In addition to the three Rio houses, four other Brazilian coffee shops appear on the list, consolidating the country as an international reference in quality and experience. The ranking — which values not only the taste, but also the atmosphere and community impact of each establishment — reinforces the role of Brazil, and especially Rio, as an increasingly sophisticated destination when the subject is coffee.
