Rio will host the Pan American Gymnastics in 2026

Rio has just won another important achievement on the international sports scene. A Pan American Gymnastics Union (UPAG) announced that the city was chosen to host the Pan American Championships of Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics in youth and adult categories in 2026. The announcement was made during the ordinary general meeting of the entity, held in Panama, and the carioca candidacy was unanimously approved, reinforcing international confidence in Rio's ability to host large competitions.

The choice marks the return of the city to an event that is already part of its recent history. Rio de Janeiro was the headquarters of the Pan American Gymnastics tournaments in 2021 and 2022, including the trampoline championship, and stood out for the quality of the organization and the structure offered to athletes and technical teams. Now, the capital of Rio de Janeiro is preparing to repeat its success and offer a new sports experience of excellence.

With the conquest, Rio amends a sequence of major events of the modality. In August this year, the city received the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, attracting the main names of the sport and moving the local economy with the presence of delegations, fans and professionals in the sector.

The realization of the Pan American Gymnastics in 2026 reinforces the sports vocation of the Wonderful City, which has already been the scene of historical competitions, such as the 2007 Pan American Games and the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The new achievement is the result of the joint work, which continues to transform Rio into a world reference for sport and tourism of major events.
