Secretariat of Women will carry out Rio+Security campaign in Réveillon of Copacabana
The Secretariat of Women's Policies and Promotion will carry out the Rio+Security campaign at Réveillon of Copacabana. The objective is to raise awareness of the population, to disseminate the reception services to women in situations of violence and to raise awareness of migrants about the laws and types of violence against women. The campaign will also be extended to the Carnaval of 2024.
On December 30th, the bathrooms of the Copacabana waterfront will be adhesived with the materials of the website "Rio + Insurance for Women", which brings information on how and where to ask for help in cases of violence against women through a QRCode. The Department of Women will have a care room, from 5:30 to 5h, to welcome women and migrants in situations of violence during the Réveillon.
The "Rio + Insurance for Women" is an informative website about the various forms of gender violence, with English, French and Spanish translation. It was produced in partnership with the UN International Migration Organization (IOM). The campaign began in the Réveillon of 2022 with a focus on migrants.
