It is in Rio and wants to see beaches with the Blue Flag, International seal of environmental awareness?
Meet Prainha, Reserva and Grumari!
But what is the Blue Flag? It is an international certification seal of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), given annually to beaches around the world and which takes into account various criteria, including water quality, beach cleaning, the cultural value of the site and the offering of environmental education activities to the population.
- Prainha - The surfers' favorite beach, with perfect waves and indescribable natural beauty. Prainha, as the name itself says, has a small strip of sand with 700 meters stretch of strong sea protected by hills covered by Atlantic Forest. The ideal is to arrive early to enjoy the sun, which hides behind the mountains in the middle of the afternoon. In the kiosks, the requests are natural sandwich, juice and açaí.
- Reserve - It is an extensive and little frequented beach, ideal for those looking for a quieter sunny day within the city of Rio. It is located in an environmental protection area between Barra da Tijuca and Recreio, 8 km long and has soft and white sand, clear waters and restinga vegetation. For those who like to fish, the beach of the Reserve is a good option.
- Grumari - The area is of environmental preservation, the scenery recalls native beaches with strong waves, where constructions are prohibited. The site is frequented daily by surfers looking for greater chances of big waves, almost always finding what they are looking for. The waves usually break before reaching the bathers, who take advantage of the cold little rascals on their feet, making Grumari the ideal beach for both groups.
In addition, the seal was also given to other beaches in the state of Rio de Janeiro, all 12, and you can check the list here:
