The NFL confirmed on April 24 that the River You'll get it this year. On September 27, Baltimore Ravens faces Dallas Cowboys at the Maracanã in a third week regular season match. The game is scheduled to start at 5:25 p.m.
The confrontation brings together two prominent franchises. Cowboys, founded in 1960, are one of the most traditional teams, with five Super Bowl titles (1972, 1978, 1993, 1994 and 1996), and are considered the most valuable franchise in the world. The Ravens, created in 1996, won the championship on two occasions (2000 and 2012) and arrived with sports force, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, elected twice the MVP of the league. The team also features running back Derrick Henry among their top names.
In the last season, the Baltimore Ravens ended their campaign with eight wins and nine losses, staying out of the playoffs. The Dallas Cowboys, in turn, were eliminated in the first round of the postseason.
Attractions of the Interval Show confirmed
The NFL organisation Rio confirmed on Monday (17/08) that Ricky Martin and Pedro Sampaio will be performing at the show of the confrontation interval between Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. Natural to Rio, the DJ will perform his first performance at the Maracanã and, next to Ricky Martin - an idol of the Brazilian artist - will debut as an attraction in an event of the American league.
With the duo, the NFL game break show in Brazil will join a rising national artist with a global star and icon of Latin American music. It will also be the second consecutive year with presentation of a foreign singer, but this time accompanied by a national artist. The break show is a Super Bowl tradition and is part of the media show produced by the NFL, and is also held in other games considered special.
Rio is consolidated as the stage of major events
The match marks an important moment for the presence of the NFL in Brazil. This will be the first of at least three games the city will receive in the next five years, reinforcing Rio as the center of major international sporting events. Currently, the country is the second largest league market outside the United States, with about 36 million fans behind only Mexico.
The realization of the game at Maracanã reaffirms the city's role in the global scene and expands the sports calendar, with the potential to attract national and international visitors and boost the local economy.
