In October, Rio will become the first city in Latin America to host the Zayed Charity Run, an international street race that unites sport and solidarity. The event will be held at Posto 6, in Copacabana, from 7am.
Created in the United Arab Emirates, the race aims to raise resources for social and health projects. In this Rio edition, the income will be allocated to Rio Solidário, an institution that acts in partnership with the government, private sector and local communities in support of children, adolescents, women and families in vulnerable situations. Zayed Charity Run has already passed through cities such as Abu Dhabi, Cairo, New York and Miami, gathering thousands of participants and allocating funds for cancer initiatives and essential health programs. In 2025, in addition to Rio, the race will also have premieres in Beijing and Budapest, expanding its global presence.
The event bears the name of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates, and seeks to spread values such as solidarity, compassion and integration among peoples.
