Absolute movie icon Marilyn Monroe would have turned 100 on June 1. To celebrate the centenary of the actress who definitely marked the history of Hollywood and pop culture, NET Gávea Station receives the show “The More Marilyn The Better”, between May 28 and June 3.

The programme brings together 14 starred feature films or with the actress's remarkable participations, going through different stages of her career in the cinema. Among the unavoidable classics of Marilyn's career are The Men Prefer the Blondes, The Hotter The Better, The Sin Lives on the Side and The Misfits, the last completed film of the actress released in 1961.

The show also features critical productions to understand the construction of Marilyn Monroe myth throughout the 1950s and early 1960s. The public will be able to revisit works directed by historical movie names such as Billy Wilder, Howard Hawks, John Huston, Fritz Lang and George Cukor.
