The climate of carnaval will gain symphonic contours in Lapa. On February 20, the Founding Progress receives the show Symphony Ball, which promotes the meeting between the Monobloco and the Symphony Petrobras Orchestra in a presentation that mixes the carnival rhythms with the concert music.
Known for dragging crowds during the revelry period and for his repertoire that walks through classics of Brazilian music, Monobloco goes up to the stage accompanied by a symphonic formation, expanding the sound power of his songs. The presentation proposes a new reading for songs already consecrated by the public, now with arrangements that dialogue with orchestral language without losing the characteristic energy of the carnaval carioca.
The concert will be governed by conductor Felipe Prazeres, who leads the Symphony Petrobras Orchestra in this hybrid musical experience. The proposal of the Symphony Ball is to bring together universes that at first sight seem different, but share the same cultural root: Brazilian music. By joining percussion, blowing and strings in the same show, the project reinforces the idea of democratization of concert music, making it more accessible and connected to different audiences.
