The success of “Samba dos Podadores” ensured the return of the project to the stage of the Rival Petrobras Theatre. On December 8, a Monday, the theater receives five interpreters who carry the history of the Brazilian carnaval: Tinga (Vila Isabel), Marquinhos Art’Samba (United of Tijuca), Serginho do Porto (Golden Eagle and Estácio de Sá), Bruno Ribas (United of Father Miguel) and Wantuir (Porto da Pedra).
The proposal of the evening is to take the public on a musical journey guided by the voices that command crowds in the Marquis de Sapucaí. The repertoire begins in the pagodas that packed the 1990s, traverses successes of the 2000s and leads into the sambas-stacks that marked parades and seasons. The show also acts as reverence to the fundamental names of samba, such as Jorge Aragon, Dona Ivone Lara, Xande de Pilares, Neguinho da Beija-Flor and Zeca Pagodinho.
