After season in São Paulo, the show Rita Lee — A musical autobiography arrives in Rio de Janeiro for a season at Teatro Casa Grande, Leblon. The musical, inspired by the singer's autobiography, revisits striking moments of her life and career, including successes, polemics and partnerships that helped shape Brazilian rock.
In the role of Rita Lee, actress Mel Lisboa, chosen by her own singer to play her, returns to the character almost a decade after the play Rita Lee Mora à Lado (2014). For the performance in the current montage, Lisbon was recently awarded the Shell Award for Best Actress.
Directed by Marcio Macena and Deborah Dubois, the cast also features Bruno Fraga in the role of Roberto de Carvalho, as well as Fabiano Augusto as Ney Matogrosso, Deborah Reis playing Hebe Camargo, Flavia Strongolli as Elis Regina and Roquildes Junior in the role of Gilberto Gil.
The piece outlines an overview of the artist's trajectory, from the first steps in music to her consecration as one of the greatest icons of national rock.
