March brings back to Rio the largest 100% female competition of beach sports in Latin America: the Queen of the Sea. In its 4th edition, the event promises to challenge and enchant athletes of various modalities, gathering from young promises to great names of world swimming.
March brings back to Rio the largest 100% female competition of beach sports in Latin America: the Queen of the Sea. In its 4th edition, the event promises to challenge and enchant athletes of various modalities, gathering from young promises to great names of world swimming.
With a super-programming, the Queen of the Sea begins early at 6:20, with races including swimming, racing and the Beach Biathlon, which combines the two modalities. The great highlight is on the Sprint 1K, where the two best placed ensure vacancy in the awaited elite group dispute, which brings together high-performance athletes.
Modalities and Full Programming
The tests meet different profiles of athletes, always with categories adapted by age and technical level. Check the schedules:
- 6:20 a.m. Open 500M (from 11 years)
- 6h40: Beach Run 2.5K and 5K (from 14 years)
- 7h: Beach Biathlon (1K swimming + 2.5K racing) (from 14 years)
- 7:20: Sprint 1K – worth vacancies in the Elite Dispute (from 14 years)
- 7:40 a.m. Classic 2K (from 14 years)
- 8:00 a.m. Challenge 4K (from 14 years)
The athletes participating in the elite will soon be released in the official channels of the event.
Withdrawal of Kits and Important Rules
Kit removal will take place on the day before the event, March 15, at times scheduled between 9am and 9pm. The site will be out soon. It is important to remember that there will be no delivery of kits on the day of the test or after the event. The athletes who do not remove the kit within the deadline will be disqualified.
Documents Required for Participation
For swimming competitions and Beach Biathlon:
- Official document with photo.
- Medical certificate (6 months validity) proving physical capacity.
- Proof of participation in similar evidence in the last 12 months or technical statement.
- PCD category: Nominal medical report.
For race races:
- Official document with photo.
- PCD category: Nominal medical report.
Kit withdrawal by third parties: Please provide all necessary documents and an authorization signed by the registered athlete.
For minors: All required documents and an authorisation signed by the legal officer.
