Practical Manual Exhibition of the New Traditional Samba - Occupation Iboru
R. Sete de Setembro, 43 - Centro
Another free cultural program at the Rio Center!
One more program cultural free at the Rio Center!
If you are in Rio, want to know more of the history of samba in a free and curated exhibition of artist Marcelo D2, you need to visit the Practical Manual Exhibition of the New Traditional Samba, in the Occupation Iboru.
The exhibition, which comes on display from day 07 in the IBORU Occupation, will have six scenarios that translate the whole creation process to the final product (so practical manual), including two lounges, facilities that modify the space, expanding the size as infinite background and proportion box, reproduction of a street with store gate and square bank, on the 2nd floor, and even a stylized bathroom with market bags.
About the Occupation Iboru:
The Occupation IBORU, movement created by Marcelo D2 and Luiza Machado in 2023, received more than 120 1,000 visitors in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Salvador. The project was a development of the album of the same name, appointed by APCA as one of the best of last year. The album “IBORU, let our supplications be heard”, by Marcelo D2 (Pupila Dilated/ Altafonte), has just received an indication to Grammy 2024, in the Best Samba Album/Pagoda category.
The creators united art, fashion, education, technology and behavior under the baton of this new traditional samba, now the focus is even more directed to music. In 2024, the musicality of the artist takes the lead in this new space, reflecting Marcelo D2's continuous search for sound experimentation and sharing of his creative process.
