PIAF – I do not regret the Riachuelo Rio Theatre

The musical “PIAF – I do not regret” arrives at the Riachuelo Rio Theatre, in the Center, for a season from October 10 to November 1. With the text of Newton Moreno and Alessandro Toller and direction of Sergio Modena, the show revisits the trajectory of Édith Piaf, one of the most striking voices of French music of the 20th century. Laila Garin plays the singer in an assembly that runs through different moments of her life, from childhood marked by poverty to international consecration.

The narrative follows a trajectory traversed by losses, challenges, relationships and restarts. Discovered still young while singing on the streets of Paris, Piaf began performing in cabarets and gained international projection over the following decades. The show also addresses striking episodes of his personal life, such as the romance with boxer Marcel Cerdan, his relationship with French resistance and the health problems that accompanied the last years of his career.

On the scene, Laila Garin is accompanied by an orchestra, under the musical direction of Claudia Elizeu, and by 12 actors. The montage brings together songs that became symbols of the artist’s trajectory, including “La Vie en Rose”, “Hymne à l’Amour”, “Padam, Padam”, “Milord” and “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien”.
