The Rio de Janeiro soloist orchestra (OSRJ) begins its 2025 season with the Rock Classics in Concert show, which will be presented on April 10, at the Riachuelo Rio Theatre, in the Center of Rio.
The Rio de Janeiro soloist orchestra (OSRJ) starts its 2025 season with the show Rock Classics in Concert, which will be presented on April 10, at the Riachuelo Rio Theatre in the Rio Center.
Under the musical direction of conductor Rafael Barros Castro, who also signs the arrangements and participates in the show as guitarist and vocalist, the concert pays homage to great names and rock bands, exploring the roots and developments of the genre. The repertoire includes classics from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s — a period marked by the creative explosion of rock all over the world.
Among the chosen songs are hits like Purple Rain (Prince), Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin), Sultans of Swing (Direct Straits), You have to figure it out, my friend. (Erasmo Carlos) and Gardens of Babylon (Rita Lee)
With a proposal that goes beyond the simple tribute, OSRJ invites the public to a real journey in time, recalling songs that marked generations and continue influencing contemporary artists.
