The trajectory of one of the main representatives of the Brazilian choro wins a special celebration on the stage of the Rival Petrobras Theatre. On August 19, singer and multi-instrumentalist Nilze Carvalho presents the show “Choro de Girl – 46 Years”, which revisits the beginning of her career and the repertoire that led her to gain recognition even in adolescence.
The show's starting point is a series of four LPs recorded by Nilze between the ages of 11 and 14. At the time, the artist acted as a bandolinist and was accompanied by the Golden Age set, one of the historical groups of Brazilian choro.
In the repertoire of the presentation in Rio, they are classics that are part of the history of crying. Among the selected songs appear “Carinhoso”, “Um a Zero” and “At that time”, by Pixinguinha; “Odeon”, by Ernesto Nazareth; “Nights Cariocas”, “Bole Bole” and “Strange”, by Jacob do Bandolim; and “Brasileirinho”, by Waldir Azevedo.
