On June 18th (Wednesday), the award-winning comedy "Pelada - The Hour of Gaymada", makes a unique performance at the Adolpho Bloch Theatre. The play explores the dispute over a football field in Olaria, neighborhood of the suburb of Rio de Janeiro, between a traditional team and a LGBTQIAPN+ group that wants to perform the first "gaymada" championship, an adaptation of the burning game. The piece addresses topics such as the occupation of spaces, black and peripheral resistance, and the fight against homophobia, all with a lot of humor and suburban poetry.
The central plot revolves around the rivalry between the two teams, showing the backstage of the dispute over the use of the "Front Field", which runs the risk of being sold to a contractor. The play combines elements of comedy, social criticism and poetry, seeking to question gender norms and celebrate diversity.
