Brazilian music and jazz are on the stage of Blue Note Rio, in Copacabana, on August 13. The French singer Manu Le Prince, recognized as one of the representatives of Latin Jazz in Europe, returns to Brazil to present the release show of his new album, “Erra Canta”. The presentation takes place at 8 pm and also marks the celebration of the artist's birthday.
The new work has nature as one of its main themes and brings together interpretations of works by important Brazilian composers, as well as jazz standards and copyright compositions. For the performance in Rio, Manu Le Prince will be accompanied by Carioca musicians who also participated in the recording of the album: Jorge and Kiko Continentino, on the sax and piano; Alex Rocha, on the bass; and Marcio Bahia, on the drums.
The repertoire moves between different aspects of jazz and Brazilian music. Among the selected standards are “Poinciana” and “Here’s to Life”, which share space with songs of important MPB names, such as Milton Nascimento, Marcos Valle and Dori Caymmi.
