About the artists:Jahir Soares is an essential drummer of reggae and national music, a musician who at the age of 66 follows envy for technique and energy. Like many of the fundamental names of Reggae Baiano, Jahir Soares is the son of Recôncavo Baiano, but precisely from the city of Maragogipe, Jahir was the champion of the first Brazilian drums championship and has played with names such as Tim Maia, Tânia Alves, Edson Gomes, among other names of national music.
Msafiri Zawose is known for her traditional Gogo-style music, which is strongly based on the zeze & limba instruments in combination with distinct lyrical harmonies. This rich musical tradition comes from the Wagogo Dodoma people in Central Tanzania. Msafiri Zawose is the son of the late Dr. Hukwe Zawose, and continues this musical tradition while merging with more modern styles, creating a truly distinctive and unique sound.
