The play premieres in Rio after joining the programme of the festival “100 Years of Riso: Dario Fo in Cena”, held in São Paulo in honor of the centenary of the Italian playwright, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and often associated with the title “Italian Shakespeare”.
Written by Dario Fo, “Il Primo Miracolo” combines popular humor, social criticism and elements of historical imagination to present a humorous version of the early years of Christ’s life. The narrative is built from apocryphal gospels and popular stories.
On the scene, Roberto Birindelli plays 22 characters and leads the audience through different episodes of the story. Among them are the journey of three wise men guided by a star described as “workaholic” and the situations provoked by little Jesus by using his powers in an exaggerated way. The Carioca season will be held from September 8 to October 21,
