The Harlem Globetrotters They're back in Brazil! On October 25, the North American group that mixes basketball, acrobatics and humor performs at Maracanãzinho, in Rio de Janeiro, with a show aimed at the whole family.
With almost a century of history, the Globetrotters They won world fame by turning basketball matches into real shows. The 2025 tour, which marks the return of the team to the country after almost a decade, will have about 25 performances between September and October. The last visit to Brazil was in 2017.
Harlem Globetrotters was created in 1926 to give space to black athletes who were barred in the official leagues of the United States. Although they emerged in Chicago, they adopted the name “Harlem” in reference to the effervescent African-American culture. Since then, they have conquered millions of fans in more than 120 countries and have also made their mark in pop culture — from historical to animation tours produced by Hanna-Barbera studios in the 1970s.
