The exhibition “Valongo: Justice for the Memory of the Pier” invites the public to immerse themselves in the history of the Valongo Pier, the main landing point of enslaved Africans in the Americas. The project highlights the importance of memory, preservation of historical heritage and recognition of the role of Africans and their descendants in the construction of Brazil.
The exhibition addresses from the creation of the pier, its decharacterization over the years, until the rediscovery in 2011, during the works of Porto Maravilha. The exhibition is part of the Cultural Black Consciousness Show of the Federal Justice Cultural Center (CCJF).
