The Cia Dos à Deux premieres at CCBB RJ the show “Confuzo – It is Darkening Inside Me”, on display at Teatro II. The assembly marks a new phase of the company by incorporating, for the first time, the word as a dramaturgical axis, adding to the visual, corporal and silent language that characterizes the work of the group.
With dramaturgy, direction, scenography and performance by André Curti and Artur Luanda Ribeiro, the show presents two archetype characters that inhabit a space in constant imbalance. On the scene, the Tree-Man carries a tree over his head, in an image that refers to the desire for belonging and the search for roots in an increasingly unstable world. On the other hand, the Lightman crosses the stage pedaling a bicycle that generates the very lighting of the scene, symbolizing the continuous effort to exist.
Recognized internationally for its visual performances and scenic research that mixes physical theater, dance and visual arts, Cia Dos à Deux develops works that explore the silence and expressiveness of the body as the main language. In “Confuzo”, the group expands this universe by introducing the text as a fundamental part of the narrative. The show is on display until July 26.
