Since 2005, the Italian Film Festival in Brazil, promoted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo (ITALCAM) in partnership with the Embassy of Italy, aims to celebrate and disseminate Italian cinema. In 2024, the festival returned to the CCBB, bringing a selection of the most important works of contemporary Italian cinema, in addition to the classics that are already tradition in the show. This year, the highlight is due to the retrospective “The humor of Italian cinema: from Totò to Roberto Benigni” and the selection of unpublished films of 2023/24.

Cinema I
From 14 to 22 December
The Varilux French Film Festival is an annual event of great importance that celebrates the best of contemporary French cinema. It offers a unique platform for displaying a wide variety of French films, including dramas, comedies, documentaries and historical films. Among the highlights of this year are "Truffaut, The Roadmap of My Life", "1874, The Birth of Impressionism", "Daaaaaali!", "The Sun per Witness" and "The Last Jew".

Cinema I
From 4 to 13 December
The Opera Festival is an annual event of great prestige that celebrates the best of the world opera.
Among the most important works to be exhibited are "La Rondine", "La Bohème", "Il Trittico", "Turandot", "Madame Butterfly", "Tosca", "Roméo et Juliette", "Don Quichotte", "Carmen", "Lakmé", "Macbeth" and "La Gioconda". In addition, the festival will feature two educational sessions and two lectures on opera, further enriching the participants' experience.

Cinema II
From 1 to 29 December
The CCBB and Cinemateca of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) have joined and the CCBB will be the scene of a series of cultural activities organized by Cinemateca, focusing on the exhibition of films and formative actions. Among the activities scheduled, we highlight the sessions “Uncountable” and “It happened 100 years ago”, as well as a session in honor of Rodolfo Nanni and the thematic exhibition “Horror, Fantasia, Psychodelia: The cinema of Roger Corman”.

With an area of 19,243 m2, this pulsating space houses a rich diversity of cultural attractions, including music, theatre, cinema and exhibitions. In addition, its Library and Historical Archives preserve the memory of Banco do Brasil, while the Banco do Brasil Museum celebrates the trajectory of this icon of Rio architecture.
