The City of Arts, in Barra da Tijuca, receives between October 9 and 12 the National Ballet of China, one of the most prestigious dance companies in the world. The group brings to Rio de Janeiro the GuoNian production, a spectacle that celebrates Chinese New Year in a fusion of tradition, classical music and visual refinement.
With the choreography and direction of Zhao Ming, the assembly brings together 60 dancers on stage, exuberant costumes and a scene full of cultural references, including the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, red lanterns and folk figures. The soundtrack is based on the emblematic music composed by Tchaikovsky for choreographer Marius Petipa in 1892, evoking the grand and delicate atmosphere of classical ballet.
