The Chico Women's Block, reference in the carnaval carioca and pioneer by gathering exclusively women in honor of Chico Buarque's work, celebrates two decades of trajectory with a show at the Rival Petrobras Theatre on November 28. The group, created in 2005, consolidated as one of the most striking blocks of the pre-carnaval of Rio, uniting music, affection and female representativeness.
Throughout these 20 years, Chico's Women became known for their own arrangements, for the collective strength of their members and for transforming Chico's work into a meeting place between generations. In the commemorative show, the public will be able to revisit this story through the composer's successes, behind-the-scenes memories and reports about the coexistence that turned the block into a true musical family.
