The show “Carolina Maria de Jesus – O Diário de Bitita” arrives at the Teatro Adolpho Bloch, in Glória, on 20 and 21 November, at 20h, honoring one of the most important voices of Brazilian literature. The piece is inspired by the works “Empty Room” and “Bitita Diary”, which depict the real and moving trajectory of a woman who transformed pain and poverty into art and resistance.
The montage revisits the life of Carolina Maria de Jesus, a mining writer who, even having studied only two years of elementary school, became internationally recognized author. Paper picker, she recorded her daily life and reflections in notebooks found in the garbage — a gesture that symbolizes her ability to “recycle” not only material, but life itself.
