The National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA), partially reopens its doors to the public with the exhibition Breu, first individual photographer Vicente de Mello in the institution. The show occupies the Gallery of Moldages 2, space that resumes visits in reduced hours after remaining closed since 2020 for requalification works.
The exhibition brings together eight photographs captured by the artist in the gallery itself, in dialogue with newly restored moldings. The images went through digital editing and treatment, acquiring the “negative” aspect and exploring the idea of veiling (resource present in the history of art that alters the perception of the original forms).
The reopening integrates the series of events A look through the lock, which anticipates the complete return of the museum to the public, scheduled for 2026.
