After seasons at the Municipal Theatre Ipanema Rubens Corrêa, actor Lucas Popeta returns to the stage with the monologue “Breaking Paradigmas”, which now arrives at the Federal Justice Cultural Center (CCJF), in the Center of Rio. Uniting art and representativeness, the assembly proposes an immersion in the trajectory of black identity in Brazil, told from the experience and sensitivity of a 23-year-old black man.
Inspired by the life and legacy of Abdias Nascimento and the Experimental Teatro do Negro (TEN), the show revisits milestones of resistance and highlights the leading role of black women in the cultural formation of the country, such as Maria do Nascimento, Arinda Serafim and Marina Gonçalves. The production is totally independent and brings together a team of black artists in prominent positions.
