The samba and its poetry are the focus of the show “Black Word – The Poetry of the Samba”, which will be presented on November 23, at 18h, at the Adolpho Bloch Theatre. The montage, carried out by the Complexo Negra Word, proposes an unprecedented look on the lyrics of samba, highlighting its poetic strength and the contribution of great names of Brazilian music.
Inspired by the work and research of composer, writer and intellectual Nei Lopes, the show is based on a tribute to the artist to celebrate also the legacy of other important black Sambists. The screenplay includes compositions by Arlindo Cruz, Bezerra da Silva, Candeia, Cartola, Geraldo Pereira, Guará, Jorge Aragon, Jovelina Pérola Negra, Leci Brandão, Martinho da Vila, Paulinho da Viola and Zé Keti, among other masters of samba.
