Barra da Tijuca receives the largest edition of the Quintal dos Botecos, event that brings together root gastronomy, live music and attractions for the whole family. The 10th edition takes place in the parking lot of Uptown Barra and marks the weekend of Mother's Day with free entrance, cachaça fair, children's area, shows and snacks from 14 bars of Rio and Baixada Fluminense.
The musical programming begins on Friday (9), at 19h, with the group RDN (Kings of the Night). On Saturday (10), Sambista Délcio Luiz commands the stage. On Sunday (11), Io Pro Sereno and Batuk D’Gueto groups close the event with samba wheels starting at 19h.
Among the gastronomic highlights are the cod cake of the Portuguese Bar (Ramos), the award-winning coxinha do Bar da Gema (Maracanã) and the bar turrets of the Bode Cheiroso. The northeastern cuisine is also present with dishes such as the acarajé do Jeitão da Baiana (Nova Iguaçu) and the “Maria Bonita” do Dida Bar (Praça da Bandeira), made with red beans, bacon, aipim cream and crispy dry meat.
The event also brings a curated cachaça fair of journalist Juarez Becoza, with tastings and handmade labels.
With a family and pet friendly proposal, Quintal dos Botecos also has a micro-entrepreneurs' fair, kids area and a social action to adopt animals. Whoever donates three wet rations to pets gets a 300 ml Lagunitas chop.
