The public will gain one more opportunity to temporarily access three internal environments of the National Museum, in the Palace of São Cristóvão. The special program “Among Giants: an experience in the National Museum” was extended until September 28.
Visitors will appreciate the advances in the restoration of the palace; rediscover an iconic collection, the Bendegó meteorite; and know a recent conquest of the institution: the skeleton of a whale, 15.7 meters long, posted in the new skylight of the building.
The experience suggests a trail that articulates nature, heritage and art. Bendego – a giant with more than five tons – and other copies of the meteorite collection are the starting point. At this first moment, the visitor will also find works by Gustavo Caboco, visual artist wapichana, who resignified the meteorite to produce a series of artistic works together with his family.
