The band Aguidavi do Jêje presents the tour “Ancestral Meeting” on Thursday (24/09), no Flying Circus, Lapa. The show brings together the tradition of the Terreiro do Bogum, in Salvador, with contemporary elements and special appearances of Chico César, Gilsons, Carlinhos 7 Cordas and Pretinho da Serrinha.
Formed by 14 ogans, the Afro-Percussive Orchestra uses more than 18 instruments and has rhythms linked to the tradition of the Jêje-Mahi nation, preserved for more than three centuries. The group is recognized as the first Afro-Percussive orchestra nominated for the Latin Grammy.
The repertoire combines copyright compositions and rereadings, exploring collective percussion, voices and dance. The presentation also seeks to bring the public closer to the historical, spiritual and artistic dimension of this cultural tradition.
