The highest point of the park, with 1022 meters, the Pico da Tijuca is easily accessed by a trail that begins on the Estrada da Cascatinha, in Alto da Boa Vista. Although it seems difficult to get to the top of this which is the second highest peak in the city, the little steep trail makes the journey even pleasant for beginners in the practice of adventure sports. From the top of the Tijuca Peak, the visitor can admire a panoramic view of the city from the North Zone to the South Zone, including the Baixada Fluminense, the Southwest Zone, the Rio Center and the Rio-Niterói Bridge.
Serra da Carioca
With access to the neighborhoods of Cosme Velho, Jardim Botânico and Alto da Voa Vista, this sector houses three notable sights of the city: Parque Lage, Chinese View and Morro do Corcovado. The Chinese View is halfway between the Emperor's Table and the Jardim Botânico. The Oriental - style lookout attracts not only the privileged view of the city, but also the wealth of details of its construction. The Morro do Corcovado houses the largest art deco statue in the world: the Cristo Redentor. Visitors with better physical preparation can take advantage of the opportunity to discover the Corcovado by the trail that begins on the Cosme Velho and leads to the statue. Known not only for its fine architecture and flora, the Parque Lage is the ideal setting for pleasant afternoons of relaxation or for an elaborate breakfast in one of the space establishments.
Beautiful Stone Sector / Pedra da Gávea
At 842 metres from sea level, Pedra da Gávea can be accessed by São Conrado or Barra da Tijuca, the latter being the most used trail. From the top of the Pedra da Gávea you can see much of the Tijuca National Park, including the Corcovado and the beaches of São Conrado, Ipanema and Leblon, as well as the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and the Barra da Tijuca.
