Samba Museum
During the programming, tourists see some fantasies that have already paraded in the Sambódromo of Rio de Janeiro in recent carnivals and can still make photos dressed as revelers.
The Samba Museum, which is located within the Cartola Cultural Center, aims to keep samba's memory as cultural heritage and preserve its headquarters. Besides itinerant and permanent exhibitions, the place also opens space for workshops, samba culture projects for schools and samba wheel every Monday.
The "Vivência do Samba" package was created for the visitor to know the history of samba and also to experience its rhythm, gastronomy and interact with sambaists who shine in the great schools of the carnaval of Rio de Janeiro. The experience begins with a visit, guided by researchers of the Museum, to the exhibitions "Samba, cultural heritage of Brazil" and "Simply Cartola". In the workshop "Falling in Samba", the visitor learns the steps of samba and playing the main instruments of a drums, having as experienced instructors passers and rhythmists from traditional schools such as Mangueira, Portela and Salgueiro.
In the final stage of the package, a feijoada prepared by Tia Nelcy, current president of the bays wing of Mangueira and granddaughter of Dona Neuma, is served.
