Naval Museum

Located in a centennial building in Central Rio, the Naval Museum has a collection that includes naval models, works of art, cannons rescued from shipwrecked ships, bow figures, medals and historical documents. Cariocas and tourists will know the permanent exhibition "The Naval Power in the Formation of Brazil", which occupies seven rooms on the ground floor of the cultural attraction.

In addition, the visitor will find an Educational Action Room, located on the second floor, where plays and art-education activities occur for children and young people where school visits are received by scheduling with the Museum Education Division. Another highlight is the Patio d’Armas, which has a mobile with more than 50 birds representing birds flying over the seas of Brazil and, on the floor, in large windows, are found a torpedo B-57, 1894, and a mine used in World War II.

The exclusive service for the public PCD, as well as its companions, takes place before opening to the general public, guided by a guide trained in this type of reception. It happens weekly, always on Sundays, only for scheduled visitors. To accomplish, just send an email to dphdm.schedule@marinha.mil.br with the title "exclusive service schedule", containing in the text the desired location, if Naval Museum or Navy Cultural Space, name of the person responsible, contact phone, desired date and quantity of companions. The visit will take place within the set time.
