Come and be delighted with this monument symbol of Brazilian science at the Museum of Life Fiocruz!
Located on the banks of Avenida Brasil, walking through the Mourisco Castle in the Museum of Life Fiocruz is an invitation to take a trip through Rio from the early 20th century. Inaugurated in 1918, the Mudéjar-inspired building was designed by sanitary physician Oswaldo Cruz to become the palace of science and public health in Brazil. Its geometric decoration is everywhere and its most visible expression may be those used in the most diverse forms and through various materials such as floor mosaics, wall tiles and iron railings that adorn doors, windows, flags and guard bodies. In space, the tourist will find more than two thousand items among materials related to the production of medicines and vaccines .
Those who visit the Castle can also discover the exhibitions and enjoy the outdoor areas of the Museum of Life Fiocruz, which is free and open for everyone!
