Benjamin Constant's House Museum is back with a super exhibition.
Taken by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage since 1958, the house was transformed into a museum in 1982 and brings together furniture, objects, books, documents and photographs from the personal archive of Benjamin Constant and his family. It was built in the neoclassical style, with caramelchão and choreto in a park of fruit and ornamental trees, besides having an architecture plan in the form of “U”, thus forming an internal courtyard, for which give several doors and windows.
After six years of restructuring, the building was reopened for visitation and, for this resumption, the exhibition “A Map for the Republic” was inaugurated in partnership with the Museum of Astronomy and Afins Sciences, as well as interventions by the artist Fernando Vianna.
Come and see this zero mark of our republic for anyone who goes up the hillsides of Santa Teresa.
