Municipal Natural Park Chico Mendes
Ideal scenario for long walks and walks with children, the park has bike lanes, well-marked trails and wild animal nurseries.
With 44 hectares and almost 5km of trails, the park located in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood was created in 1989 in order to preserve the Lake of the Tachas and its surroundings, as well as the existing animals and plants in the region.
One of the main residents of the site, the yellow-paper alligator is threatened with extinction due to the destruction of its natural habitat, and finds in the park lagoon one of the few refuges for the species. Other rare animals found are the caboclinho bird, the bacon maraca and the blood tuiê.
In addition to contact with nature, the park also has a leisure area for children, picnic sites and hiking and racing trails.
